Project Highlights
Enfield Technologies hired me to develop a spool and sleeve testing and calibration platform for their incoming inspections. This project included tooling, hardware, and LabVIEW software to allow testing of all of their spool and sleeve designs in one modular platform. The system allows Enfield Technologies to quickly evaluate the core of their product before assembly preventing rework, and allowing for performance sorting adding value to their product line.
After finishing my graduate and post graduate work at the University of Minnesota, I helped them work on development of a Variable Displacement Linkage Motor (VDLM). As one of the inventors of the design used in this project who developed 5 functional prototypes, I was able to provide guidance to the team as well as some design work. The team has completed a first generation design and is in the process of completing the second.
I developed a 5 cylinder, 30cc/rev, variable displacement, pump to be used on the 2017 America's Cup AC45 yacht for Artemis racing. The machine was modeled, simulated, and optimized with evolutionary algorithms using custom Matlab software. The prototype was then designed, built, and tested. This project was completed from scratch over the course of 6 months.
I worked with fortiori designs to develop and test their muscle oxygenation sensor which measures in real time local muscle oxygenation levels. I adapted their wired sensor to operate wirelessly over Bluetooth for testing in real world athletic conditions. I sourced trainers to use this device with their customers for feedback. Additionally I completed market analysis, competitor comparisons, and freedom to operate including patent searches. With this data, Fortiori design was able to reconfigure their product and successfully launch the Moxy Monitor.
